First Aid Kits

You can’t always have an in-house infirmary in the workplace, that just isn’t practical. But accidents happen. Falls, burns, and allergic reactions are all common and can’t always be avoided. So what should you do? Federal Regulations require businesses to be prepared for unexpected injury. OSHA, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, outlines the rules. One of those requirements means maintaining a properly stocked first aid kit. The idea is, when you have a well-stocked kit, your business will have the supplies needed to treat most minor emergencies. Putting a kit together is as simple as placing some basic items in a small container, such as a plastic tub, tool kit or tote bag. It shouldn’t take you too much time, but you really do need to think about it.

Your first aid kit should include small and large sterile gauze pads, adhesive bandages, gauze roller bandages, wound cleaner, scissors, adhesive tape, gloves, and clear directions for obtaining emergency assistance. Kits need to be stored somewhere obvious and easy to see, but need to be out of the reach of young children. Also, be sure to check first-aid kits regularly to see if supplies have expired or been used. First aid kits aren’t very useful if they’re empty!

A safe work environment is the best work environment for both business owners and their employees. When the proper precautions are taken, work can be more productive and prolific. Employees will be happier if they know they're protected. It’s always important to put safety first and that’s when you can depend on Roll-Aid Industrial Supplies. We want to keep you protected.
